A different type of Sunrise in Kamloops

While the River City is known for having great sunrises through the valley and over the mountains, there's now one with open doors.

As in the Sunrise Records shop at Aberdeen Mall.

The Canadian record/pop culture chain opened its Kamloops branch on Sunday. While there was little fanfare earlier this week, a grand opening is planned for later this month.

The store, which specializes in music, also sells movies, T-shirts and other, random items related to film franchises or pop culture.

"We're excited to be open," says manager Alicia Dunn. "Come on down and take a look even if you're not looking for something in particular."

The store is the second store focusing on records and CDs in Kamloops, along with independent shop Barnacle Records in the downtown core.
