An hour before this afternoon's WHL trade deadline, the Kamloops Blazers made their first move of the day, sending 18-year-old forward Carson Denomie to Moose Jaw for a draft pick.
In return for the winger, the Blazers will receive the Warriors seventh-round pick in this spring's 2019 Bantam draft.
Denomie had one goal, three assists and 14 penalty minutes in 36 games for the Blazers this season. He was inactive for last night's loss to Victoria.
For his Kamloops career, he played in 102 games, scoring seven goals and tallying 23 points.“We’d like to thank Carson for his contributions to the Kamloops Blazers and wish him the best in Moose Jaw,” said general manager Matt Bardsley in a press release.
The Blazers roster now sits at 21, players including 13 forwards, six defensemen and two goaltenders.
Kamloops is currently clinging on to the last playoff spot in the Western Conference, with a two-point lead over the Prince George Cougars.
Moose Jaw is fourth in the Eastern Conference.
