If you're looking for a simple way to get great Italian food, celebrity chef Massimo Capra will be bringing a taste of his home nation to Sun Peaks next month.
With an easily recognizable face (particularly the moustache), you've likely seen Capra's face on Cityline or the Food Network, as a judge Chopped: Canada or host on Restaurant Makeover. Now, he'll be north of Kamloops on Saturday, March 16, sharing his culinary journey from Salsomaggiore, Parma and teaching people the secrets to making the perfect pizza dough.
The Sun Peaks Grand Hotel will host two events with the chef: the cooking demonstration and luncheon at 10:30 a.m. and a gala dinner prepared by Capra at 6 p.m. The menu will feature a collection of Chef Capra’s take on traditional Italian specialities such as homemade focaccia, risotto nero, handmade beef short rib ravioli and veal ossobuco.
“We are thrilled to have chef Massimo Capra share his talents and his incredible story with our guests,” says Michael Macleod, director sales and marketing at Sun Peaks Grand Hotel, in a press release. “The event is an opportunity for our guests to be inspired by his journey and for them to enjoy truly amazing food and authentic Italian entertainment.”
The event costs a pretty penny however, with tickets to the demonstration and lunch at $160 per person and the dinner at $130 per person. You can also get tickets to both for $245.
