'Expensive car' impounded after going 65 km/h over speed limit

A driver had their "expensive car" impounded Thursday night (July 11) after an RCMP officer caught them doing 145 km/h in an 80 km/h zone on Highway 1 East.

According to Cpl. Jodi Shelkie, police caught the speeder around 7 p.m.

In an email to KamloopsMatters, she says the driver also failed a roadside screening device and was issued an immediate roadside suspension for 90 days. 

For privacy reasons, information about the make and model of the car is not being released.
