Five teenagers suffered non-life-threatening injuries after the vehicle they were in rolled over on Tranquille Road early this morning (March 14).

In a press release, Cpl. Jodi Shelkie says the SUV was travelling eastbound towards Kamloops, just east of the turnoff to Tranquille Farms, when the driver failed to make the corner. The SUV subsequently went into the ditch and rolled "several times."

Of the five teens in the car, four were able to exit on their own. One had to be rescued by firefighters. All were taken to a local medical facility to be assessed.

Shelkie says speed is believed to be a contributing factor in the accident.
