Freeze Athletics sent three teams down to Richmond this past weekend for the PINK cheerleading championships and all of them left with banners after a successful showing.
Their junior level 3 had the highest score of the day with a 97.96 and finished top in the entire level 3 category. That win also secured them a spot in the Open, another cheer event in Orlando. But considering the team just went to Florida this spring for the Summit championships, they won't be attending this time around.
Freeze's junior level 2, and senior level 4 teams also won their respective divisions in the PINK championships.
"We are so proud of our teams representing Kamloops so well in the very first competition of the year," says Keri Lewis, co-owner of Interior Freeze Athletics.
The competition season will continue well into the spring, culminating in Kamloops hosting the first B.C. Provincial Cheerleading championships on April 13, 2019 at the Tournament Capital Centre.
