The Western Hockey League released the schedule for the upcoming preseason and the Kamloops Blazers will have seven games to warm up before regular season action.

Things get underway on Aug. 31 with a playoff rematch between the Blazers and the Victoria Royals at the Sandman Centre at 7 p.m. Victoria eliminated Kamloops from the WHL Playoffs last year, winning their first-round matchup in six games.

The following afternoon, the Blazers will host the rival Kelowna Rockets, one of three meetings between the two in the exhibition schedule.

This year, Kamloops will also be taking part in the Vancouver Giants' annual preseason tournament down at the Langley Events Centre. Over three days, they'll play the Royals, the host Giants and the Prince George Cougars.

The 2019-20 WHL regular season schedule will be announced later this month.
