The Kamloops Blazers have sent the last three members of their 2019 Bantam draft class home after getting their feet wet in WHL preseason action over the weekend.

Mats Lindgren, Dylan Ernst and Tye Spencer are all going back to their midget clubs after helping the Blazers to a pair of preseason wins, beating the Victoria Royals 9-1 on Saturday night (Aug. 31) and topping the Kelowna Rockets 5-3 on Sunday afternoon (Sept. 1).

Ernst split action in both games over the weekend, pitching a shutout while between the pipes. He turned away 10 shots against Victoria and another 17 against Kelowna.

He'll be returning to the Moose Jaw Generals of the Saskatchewan Midget AAA Hockey League this season.

Spencer had a pair of goals over the weekend, beating the Royals Keegan Maddocks in the blowout before scoring the game-winner against the Rockets. Spencer will also return to Saskatchewan to play with the Saskatoon Contacts this year.

Lindgren, the defenceman taken seventh overall in this spring's draft, was held pointless in two games. He returns to the Lower Mainland where he is expected to play with the Burnaby Winter Club Midget Prep team this winter.

The Blazers roster is now at 28 players: 18 forwards, nine defenceman and two goaltenders. They need to get down to 23 players before the start of the regular season.
