Kamloops Classics find podium five times at PSW Winter Invitational

The Kamloops Classic Swim (KSC) team sent eight swimmers to the Lower Mainland this past weekend to compete at the Pacific Sea Wolves Winter Invitational swim meet and came back with five medals.

The Classics won two gold, two silver and one bronze in the 20-team meet held in White Rock on Feb 2 and 3.

Michael Dagasso won a gold medal in the 16-and-under boys 50m freestyle. Diego Paz collected the other gold in the 16-and-under boys 200m butterfly.

Haley Rowden got two silver medals in the 15-and-under girls category for the 200m breaststroke and 400m individual medley.

Jack Cameron grabbed the final bronze medal for the 16-and-under boys 100m freestyle.

Other notable results included Jackson Litke finishing fifth in the 100m backstroke in the 17-and-over mens division, Sarah Koopmans coming seventh in the 100m butterfly in the 16-and-over girls, Trevor Laupland coming 10th in the 100m freestyle for 16-and-under boys and Keana Smart placing 19th in the 1500m freestyle for 16-and-over girls.

All eight swimmers made it out of their preliminary races to qualify for the finals.
