Kamloops Mounties are investigating an early morning robbery at the Canco Gas Station on Tranquille Road.

Police say on Feb. 10 a suspect entered the gas station and demanded money from the cash register be put into a black cloth grocery bag.

According to Cpl. Jodi Shelkie, the suspect then left on foot toward the Overlanders Bridge.

"The clerk was not injured," she says in a press release. "It is unknown if the suspect was male or female."

The suspect is described as:

  • 5'8'' tall
  • Wearing an olive gree army-style thick coater over a Carhartt brown jacket over a blue-checkered hoodie; they were wearing light blue gloves and had a black neck-gator over the bottom of their face

Shelkie says there's no evidence to believe this robbery is connected to any other robbery that has occurred in Kamloops.

She adds surveillance images will be sent out to media when they become available.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Kamloops RCMP detachment at 250-828-3000 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-8477.
