Members of Kamloops Long Blades Speed Skating had a strong weekend of competitions around B.C. and beyond this past weekend.
Sylvie Lloyd, a student of the TRU Study Abroad program, took part in the second leg of Benelux Cup in Luxembourg on Dec. 16, finishing third in the Junior/Senior Division B. She recorded a personal best time in the 500m, racing a 50.43 in the finals.
Lloyd finished 12th in the first leg of the Benelux Cup in the Netherlands last month.
Back in Canada, Cameron Thomas and had two first-place finishes at the Richmond Oval Interclub on Dec. 15. Thomas also recorded a personal best time in the 400m.
Other members took part in the Kelowna Cup on Dec. 15, with Kayleigh Roberts recording four personal best times while Hudson Grant, Anaka Niedziejko, Jacob Beesley, Allison Hill, Adam Turner, Spencer Dersch and Jodi Roberts each had three. Jason Hill and John Hill had two personal bests on the day while Anisha Litt, Jared Roberts, Lienke Raath and Leah Turner had one best outing each.
The club will be back in action in the new year, with the B.C. Long Track Championships going in Fort St. John Jan. 19 to 20.
