The Kamloops Pickleball Club wrapped up their indoor season by collecting medals at two different tournaments over the past few weekends.
From April 5-7, 15 members of the club partook in the Battle of the Paddle in Coquitlam.
In his first ever tournament, Mitch Mitchell collected two medals, winning the mixed doubles 3.0 division with partner Joanne Leesing and a bronze in the men's doubles 3.0 division with Neil Steinke.
Kristina Lidster earned three medals, swinging for silver in singles, and getting a bronze in both the 5.0 mixed doubles and women's doubles divisions. Casey Rogers got a gold and a silver in women's and mixed doubles while Brent Jackson and Matt Stodola earned two medals each in men's and mixed doubles.
From March 26-31, seven members of the club made the trek down to Centralia, Wash. for the International Indoor Pickleball Championships.
Lidster won three gold medals and one silver, competing in five events total. Stodola also finished the week strong bringing home a gold and a silver medal.
The Kamloops Pickleball Club now turn their attention to the outdoor season, which they'll kick off right here in town. The Kamloops Open will be held at Riverside Park May 25-26.
The club expects almost 300 participants at the two-day tournament.
