Kamloops' Ty Fuoco took home first place in the 1500m at the first-ever Coffee Cup Classic at the University of Victoria this week (July 15 and16), setting a new personal best in the process.

The Sa-Hali Secondary grad ran the race in 3:46.67, topping his previous personal best by a full second.

Fuoco also ran in the 800m race the following day, finishing fourth with a time of 1:51.93. That mark fell short of his best time of 1:51.26, set at the Portland Track Festival in June.

The Kamloops native now races with Vic City Elite track team.
