The home team is out, after making it to the final day of play during the Kamloops International Baseball Tournament.
The six-team field has been reduced to two as the Everett Merchants are headed to today's final at 2 p.m. at Norbrock Stadium, facing off with the Seattle Studs. They defeated locals the Kamloops Sun Devils for the second time in the tournament, this time after a tight 10-inning game, according to the tournament's Facebook page.
Everett's 4-3 victory came after the Sun Devils scored in the top of the 10th to lead 3-2. However, the home team couldn't hold the lead and gave up two runs in the bottom half of the inning.
Everett had been leading the majority of the game, and carried a 2-1 lead into the ninth inning.
Kamloops went into the semi-final with two wins and a loss over their three games, according to the tournament website. They beat the Redmond Dudes in their opening game 8-3 on Thursday, July 5. Friday, July 6 they were able to beat the Seattle Selects 9-6. Yesterday, they faced Everett for the first time, and lost 13-1.
