The Moviemart in downtown Kamloops has been robbed — again.

Police say a man entered the store, located at 367 St. Paul St., around 1:10 p.m. yesterday, Saturday (Jan. 19).

The man had his face covered and carried a box knife, notes an RCMP press release. He jumped over the counter and had the employee open the cash register.

"He took money from the register and left the store heading west on St. Paul Street, then south through the east parking of the DoubleTree Hotel towards the back alley," says Staff Sgt. Mathias Van Laer in the release.

The suspect did meet with an "associate" in the back alley, he adds.

Police say the Moviemart clerk was not injured.

The first suspect is described as:

  • 5' 8''
  • 160 pounds
  • Caucasian
  • Wearing a black toque, black bandana, grey zipped up hoody, blue jeans, grey running shoes and black gloves

His associate is described as:

  • Same height as suspect number one
  • Wearing a black baseball cap, black pea coat with a grey hoody underneath, blue jeans and white running shoes with light blue shoelaces, carrying one red medium-size Under Armour duffle bag

Anyone with information is asked to call Kamloops RCMP at 250-828-3000 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.

Moviemart was also robbed on Jan. 10, at knifepoint.

Police are still investigating and can't confirm whether both incidents are related yet.
