Bring a little art and a whole lot of fun into your kids' lives this weekend at the annual Children’s Arts Festival at Riverside Park.

The two-day adventure is absolutely free to take part in and offers a variety of kid-friendly fun.

This year’s theme will celebrate the budding superhero in every child, states a Facebook page dedicated to the event.

Those attending on Friday, Sept. 14, from 3:30 to 5 p.m., will see an after-school light-and-shadow theatre experience with Miss White Spider, plus a family dance party.

The second day (Sept. 15) only gets better. Events will run from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and parents and kids alike are encouraged to come dressed as their favourite superhero. There will be art, music (Dianna David's Red Ball Movement Show and Ruffle Redbird will perform), dance and theatre for children ages two and up.

While admission is free, donations will be accepted on site, with partial proceeds going to the NICU at Royal Inland Hospital to help little superheroes.
