Bringing a cross of Motown and modern pop, Luke McMaster is performing at the Blue Grotto next month.
The March 5 show will feature material from the singer/songwriter's latest project "Icons of Soul," during which McMaster wrote with a pair of Motown legends: Lamont Dozier (whose songwriting credits include "I Can't Help Myself (Sugar Pie, Honey Bunch)") and Felix Cavaliere of the Rascals (the guys who sang "Good Lovin'" among others).
McMaster is no songwriting slouch either, having co-written songs for a variety of artists including Rihanna and Nick Lachey.
The Icons of Soul project combines both styles of music. In addition to the songs, the show will also feature clips from a documentary being made about the songwriting process.
Also on the bill is Vernon-born Andrew Allen, a singer/songwriter described as being in the same genre as Jack Johnson and Jason Mraz.
