After confirming there was a homicide investigation going on yesterday (Oct. 9), Kamloops RCMP have released the name of the victim.
Troy Gold, a 35-year-old Kamloops man, was reported missing on Oct. 1. According to police, his disappearance was deemed suspicious on Oct. 5.
"Through investigation, the RCMP determined that Gold's disappearance was suspicious and further investigation revealed that Troy Gold had been murdered," Cpl. Jodi Shelkie says in a press release today (Oct. 10).

No arrests have been made, but the police do have suspects in the case, according to today's release. Mounties say there is no risk to the public as the murder is believed to have been targeted.
Locations in the Lac du Bois area and a home on Woodstock Place are part of the investigation.
More public updates are expected, according to the release.
