Are you looking to get into the food truck scene? Today might be your lucky day.
Popular Tex-Mex food truck Hot Mess is up for sale and looking to turn the keys over to the next business owner.
Owner, Kortni Dufresne, cites the stresses related to a death in the family as the leading cause for the sale of Hot Mess.
“As much as I really don’t want to, it was a real struggle last year,” Dufresne explained.
Dufresne is hoping that the food truck will stay local to Kamloops. Hot Mess, known for its tacos and tater tots, was voted Best Food Truck in the city in 2019.
“I’d hate to see it close. I did so well and I’d hate to see the community lose something so positive,” Dufresne expressed.
Hot Mess is on the market with hopes that a lucky buyer will take the business Dufresne built and carry it on. It includes the vehicle and all the essentials inside.
“I really hope that we can find someone local so I can pass it on to someone that can take it on. I’d love to see it stay local because it was such a positive thing for the community,” Dufresne says. “I hope someone can take on what I worked so hard on.”
Whoever takes over will have to get moving quick; several dates are already booked for 2020 and more requests arrive every week.
