After a serious structural issue was found in the Sagebrush Theatre roof a month ago, user groups have been told they won't be able to get back in until at least September.
Art McDonald, the Kamloops-Thompson School District's director of facilities, says fixes are being looked at but it's going to be a complicated fix. Therefore, he's communicated with the different user groups that the closure will last for the next six months.
"It's as concrete as I can be right now," he tells KamloopsMatters.
"We're still in the process of having our engineers look at our options," McDonald says. "At this point, I have to give our engineers time to come up with a design."
That could be another three or four weeks.
Western Canada Theatre productions and other performances scheduled for the theatre have been moved to other venues.
