Leave the conductive materials behind today if you're headed north.
Environment Canada has issued a thunderstorm watch for areas north of Kamloops today, including the North Thompson, 100 Mile and Cariboo regions. It stretches as far north as Prince George.
The watch was first put out around 5 a.m. this morning by the weather authority as the "conditions are favourable for the development of severe thunderstorms that may be capable of producing strong wind gusts, large hail and heavy rain."
Lightning is also a possibility in these conditions.
If you see any examples of severe weather, send an email to BCstorm@canada.ca or tweet reports using #BCStorm.
