The woman Kamloops Fire Rescue pulled from a burning mobile home early yesterday morning in Westsyde has died.

The fire, deemed suspicious by police, was reported yesterday morning at 3:40 a.m. in the 800-block of Grant Road. When firefighters and police arrived the house was fully engulfed. Fire rescue members were able to pull the woman out and send her to hospital, but this morning police are reporting she passed away.

The investigation into the cause of the fire and whether it was set deliberately continues today.

"Fire investigators with Kamloops Fire Rescue and the RCMP, with the assistance of RCMP Forensic Investigation Section, will be examining the scene today," states Kamloops RCMP's Cpl. Jodi Shelkie in the release. "It is unknown how long this investigation will be or when the results of the investigation will be available."

Two youth taken into custody yesterday have been released by police. Whether they were involved with the incident is still under investigation.
