The Kamloops Blazers will have five warm-up games ahead of the 2018-19 WHL season, the league announced today.

The preseason gets underway Aug. 31, when the new look Blazers host the Prince George Cougars at the Sandman Centre. This will be the first game for Kamloops under their new head coach, who has yet to be tapped.

Kamloops will host three games, and have two on the road, with their final game coming Sept. 15.

Last year, the Blazers' regular season started on Sept. 22. The season schedule will be announced at a later date. The WHL voted to shorten its season to a 68-game schedule this year back in October.
