The Kamloops Venom struck early then held on in Penticton, defeating the host South Okanagan Flames 9-5 on Monday night and running their unbeaten streak to seven-straight in the Thompson Okanagan Junior Lacrosse League.

Kamloops led 5-1 after the first period, scoring two shorthanded goals in the frame. After allowing the Flames to tie the score at five-all in the second, the Venom went on another run, potting four straight to mount a 9-5 lead that would end up being the final.

Kordell Primus and Tylor Seabrooke had a pair of goals while Colton Boomer, Derek Rockvam, John Black, Zach Hebden and Callum Gorman each added one. Troy Cuzzetto was the winning goalie for the Venom once again, after getting the victory on Friday.

At 6-1-1, the Venom are still trailing the Vernon Tigers for first place in the league. But the teams will meet twice before season's end, including next Saturday (June 9) at Kal-Tire Place at 7:30 p.m.

Kamloops' next home game is the following night against Armstrong, at Memorial Arena at 7:30 p.m.
