The Thompson Rivers University women's curling team is headed to the medal round at the 2018 USPORTS Curling Nationals.

The Wolfpack finished the round robin with a record of 5-2, good enough for second in the group standings.

Corryn Brown's rink narrowly defeated Mount Allison early Tuesday (March 27), scoring a single in the 10th end to eek out a 5-4 win. Despite holding the same record as the host Alberta Pandas, TRU is the second seed by virtue their head to head loss on Saturday.

That means they'll play the third-seeded Brock Badgers Tuesday night in the semifinals (7:30 p.m. MST). The WolfPack defeated Brock 8-2 in the round robin.

On Monday, they beat Wilfrid Laurier 8-5 in the morning before losing a Western Championships rematch with the Regina Cougars 9-4 that evening.

The gold and bronze medal games will take place tomorrow (March 28) at noon.

The winner of nationals will represent Canada at the Universiade Games in Krasnoyarsk, Russia next year.
